I (Mike) first saw AccessTheStory in 2014 and joined the team in 2015.  I've learnt so much from them since then and now continue to be an Agent with AccessTheStory.

Travis and Pixi Johnson and family, and the team and tribe around AccessTheStory have had a huge impact on us, our understanding of God and the way we do ministry; and this will continue to shape who we are and the way we seek to help others. We are so grateful to them and look forward to a great ongoing partnership with them.

What's the focus of AccessTheStory?

The Problem: … a generation pursuing stories that are 'undoing' them.

Response: "Most Australian young people can't see the relevance of the Christian narrative, so we are helping Christian communities cultivate learning practice that enables young people to 'find faith through God's story' - discovering who they truly are and how they fit in God's world."

The way that ATS presents the whole Story of God in these events really engages people of all ages. It’s great to see His transformation in their lives as space is provided which helps remove obstacles and prepare the way for Him to really engage with them in the midst of community.

AccessTheStory's approach, which continues to shape my own approach, is:
  • We are STORY-FORMED – “We believe the whole story of God brings clarity to who Jesus is and what it means to follow Him.”
  • We are DISCOVERY-BASED – “We believe that a discovery-based approach to the Bible provides the best opportunity for people to engage with God.”
  • We are COMMUNITY-HEARTED – “We believe that a group of people who gathers around God’s story can become a community that reflects the heart of God.”
  • We are MISSION-FOCUSED – “We believe that mission involves any activity in word or deed that reflects the heart of God to people.”
